About the Department

The Department of Medical Technology is a growing center of study and research, providing university education in radiology technology that meets European standards. The Department is responsible for the development of radiology technologist studies and the science of radiology technology.

The aim of the Department of Medical Technology is to increase the competitive advantage in the Lithuanian system of science and studies and in the European higher education space through bachelor and master study programs that meet international standards and their realization and scientific, academic and social activities, as well as to strive for the department to become a leader by participating in international exchanges programs and project activities.

The mission of the Department is to train specialists who can independently solve problems requiring radiology technologist qualification, carry out scientific research activities that determine the interaction between theory and practice.

Vision of the Department. The Department of Medical Technology is a growing center of study and research, which is concerned with strengthening the study and research of radiology technologists and the development of working skills as an applied field of study:

  • Training of radiology technologists with general and professional competences which form the basis for work in various fields of medical technology and healthcare, and participation in scientific development,
  • The professional qualification of radiology technologist helps them to establish themselves in the Lithuanian and European healthcare market.
