Public Health is a modern and, in recent times, crucial area for preventing disease, promoting health and ensuring quality of life. Especially in the pandemic and post-pandemic period, the crucial role of public health professionals has been highlighted, with public health professionals on the front line in the fight against unexpected pandemic outbreaks. It is a sought-after and much-needed specialty with real job opportunities.
Public Health professionals are the first responders to pandemics, epidemics and outbreaks of infectious diseases; they develop recommendations for healthy lifestyles; and they carry out studies on the effects of noise, pollution, odors and chemicals on public health. Bachelors and Masters in Health assess the health of the public and of individual groups, and design, develop and implement health programmes with a particular focus on the health of children, adolescents and the elderly. These professionals are in high demand in today's labor market, with job opportunities in public health offices, public health centers, health departments of municipal administrations, pre-school education, schools, personal health care institutions, territorial health insurance funds etc.
